Taghazout's main surf season runs from October to April, when consistent northwest swells and reliable offshore winds produce the town's best waves.
The waves are smaller and gentler from June to September, which suits complete beginners and anyone who prefers warmer water and quieter lineups, even though the town itself stays busy with tourists year-round.

Taghazout Bay's sandy beach break produces small, forgiving whitewater waves, making it the go-to spot for first lessons.

The nearest airport is Agadir Al Massira (AGA), around 25km south of Taghazout, roughly a 30-40 minute drive depending on traffic.
Most surf camps include airport pickup in their package price. Without a transfer, a taxi from the airport takes about the same time and is the simplest option after landing.
You don't need any surf experience to book a camp in Taghazout. Camps run separate beginner groups, and lessons start in the whitewater at Taghazout Bay before progressing to green waves.
Board and wetsuit rental is included in almost every package, and the water stays warm enough (18-22°C) for a 3/2mm wetsuit most of the year. Booking at least 5 days gives you enough sessions to see real progress.
The main season runs from October to April, when consistent swells and offshore winds create the best conditions at Taghazout's point breaks. Summer is calmer and better suited to beginners.
